Quarters help your gladiators recover Fatigue faster between training sessions and arena appearances. They are especially useful when the same fighters must cover repeated duels and team matches. Build them early enough to leave a recovery window, then check each fighter's condition before returning to the arena.
Build Quarters With the Updated Cost in Mind
Open the construction options through your Dominus and select Quarters when your budget allows. The collected demo player experience shows a construction period before the room is available, so purchasing it is not the same as instantly resting everyone.
The official November 2 update raises the purchase cost from 25 to 30 coins. Earlier recordings show lower prices, but those should not determine a budget for the updated version.
Keep money for continued Ludus operation and the fighters needed in the next match. Quarters are helpful recovery infrastructure; buying them should not leave you depending on an immediate win to cover every remaining expense.
Send the Right Gladiators to Recover
After construction, assign the fatigued gladiator to Quarters using the room's recovery interaction. Player experience shows multiple fighters using the room while the rest of the school continues its activities.
Check who actually needs recovery. If only one fighter is entering the next duel, the other may have a useful training window. If the next event needs a team, schedule both required fighters rather than restoring one while leaving the second exhausted.
Stopping training and using Quarters are related but different choices. Resting through gladiator actions pauses further training; the dedicated facility offers faster Fatigue recovery. The developer specifically improved that recovery in the September 17 update.
Do not assume that an old video gives a universal current recovery rate. Use your displayed activity and remaining time to judge when a fighter will be ready.
Fit Recovery Around the Next Fight
Fatigue has consequences beyond slowing your preferred routine. The official August 30 rules connect arena injury risk to Fatigue, documenting increasing risk at three, four, and five Fatigue.
A useful planning loop is:
- Inspect the date and team size of the next arena match.
- Check the Fatigue of each possible participant.
- Start recovery with enough time to make a meaningful difference.
- Recheck the fighters before choosing the lineup.
In player experience, successful runs often aim to bring main fighters below three Fatigue before combat. That is a preparation target, not a promise that every possible injury or defeat becomes impossible below it.
Be careful with optional Exhibition Matches during this window. They can earn coins, but also add Fatigue. A profitable exhibition can leave the wrong fighter needing another recovery period just before an important fight.
Know What Happens When You Leave Early
You do not lose recovery already completed when removing a gladiator from Quarters. The August 23 developer update explicitly confirms that the recovered Fatigue is retained.
That makes it possible to adjust an assignment when the arena schedule requires attention. It does not mean an unfinished stay grants the recovery you would have received by waiting longer.
The October 7 update also says resting or training with less than 0.1 day remaining finishes automatically when an Arena Match is pending. Treat this as a narrow near-completion rule, rather than a guarantee that every unfinished room activity will clear immediately.
Inspect the actual fighter and available interaction before committing the lineup, particularly when the next event needs more than one gladiator.
Separate Fatigue Recovery From Injury Treatment
Quarters are not the Infirmary. Use the Infirmary when an injury requires treatment, and do not assume ordinary rest removes the injury shown in the gladiator's details.
Their early-departure rules differ too. Leaving the Infirmary early removes injuries according to treatment time completed and restores Fatigue to its value before admission. That is not the same as preserving the Fatigue recovery accumulated in Quarters.
The distinction helps when deciding the next activity: check whether the fighter needs recovery from exhaustion, treatment for an injury, or a different management action before sending them away from training.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much do Quarters cost?
The November 2 pre-launch update sets the purchase cost at 30 coins. Older demo recordings can show 20 or 25 coins.
Is recovered Fatigue lost if I remove a gladiator?
No. The official update confirms that Fatigue already recovered is retained when a gladiator leaves Quarters.
Should I wait until a fighter is highly fatigued?
Plan around the next match instead. Waiting until the last moment can leave too little recovery time for the lineup you need.
Do Quarters heal injuries?
Their demonstrated purpose is faster Fatigue recovery. Use the Infirmary for injury treatment.
