Put the Training Post to Work
A training building does not help much if the wrong gladiator is using it or the clock is paused. This Dominus Gladiatus Palus training guide explains how to put a fighter on the wooden training post and use its training-speed benefit before the next arena match. The useful result is a completed skill on a ready fighter, not just a faster progress bar.
The developer's August 30 update added a Palus tutorial. Recorded demo player experience describes the facility as a wooden training post with a 20% training-speed increase; automatic transcripts sometimes misname it as a palace, but the official facility name is Palus.
Build It, Choose a Skill, and Assign a Gladiator
Use the Dominus building options to construct the training post, then wait for construction to finish. Check the price shown in your own build rather than assuming an old demo payment is still current.
Once it is ready:
- Select the gladiator you want to train.
- Choose the intended skill in the Skills menu and start training it.
- Move the training gladiator into the Palus position by dragging them to its slot.
- Resume time if the game is paused.
- Watch for the skill to finish, then decide whether the fighter should keep training or rest.
In Metal Face's demo player experience, the player moves fighters into the post's position to accelerate the selected skill, then swaps the position to another trainee when appropriate. BaronVonGames also uses the post while preparing skills for upcoming fights. Those examples show active assignment rather than treating the building as an automatic school-wide bonus.
Choose Training That Fits the Calendar
Look at the next arena date before choosing a long skill. A 20% speed benefit can help, but it does not mean every multi-day skill will finish before the next match or remove the need to recover fatigue.
Prioritize a skill you have a reason to use on the intended entrant. Compare its remaining training time with the time before the match, then allow for rest. If another fighter can make better use of the post while your main entrant recovers, move that trainee into the position instead of leaving your tired fighter there out of habit.
The official Dominus Gladiatus updates also say training completion automatically pauses the game, following the August 30 change. That pause is a useful checkpoint: inspect fatigue and the next fight before starting another skill immediately.
Separate the Palus, Doctore, and Arena Progress
The Palus is the training post. The Doctore is a staff member with a training boost. They are different parts of the training setup, so do not assume an unsupported combined multiplier or an extra post will produce a particular completion time.
BaronVonGames' demo player experience shows a limit of one purchased post in that run. That supports planning around one available training position in the recorded demo; it does not establish every construction limit in the full game.
Use newer rules when reading older training videos. The October 16 update removed the extra fatigue previously caused by the Doctore's boost. Training itself still adds fatigue, so a faster session still belongs in your recovery schedule.
Arena progress is also not a substitute for finishing training. The November 2 update allows fights to advance the skill currently being trained, but that progress cannot complete a skill level. Return the gladiator to normal training to finish it, using the Palus where appropriate.
FAQ
What does the Palus do?
Recorded demo player experience describes it as a wooden training post that increases training speed by 20% for the gladiator assigned to it.
How do I use it?
Finish construction, choose a gladiator's skill training, move the fighter to the Palus slot, and resume time. Check the fighter's progress rather than leaving training unassigned.
Does the training boost remove fatigue?
No. Training and fatigue recovery need separate planning. Leave enough time for rest before the fighter's next arena appearance.
Can arena experience finish the skill instead?
Not under the November 2 rules. Arena progress can advance the current skill, but the gladiator must return to training to complete the level.
